The MasterChef finale logged a decent audience for BBC One last night, early viewing figures indicate.
The 9pm episode, which saw the judges crown the winner, pulled in 5.56m (21.8%).
Earlier, Waterloo Road took 4.38m (17.9%).
Edible Garden and Cracking Antiques managed 1.66m (6.9%) and 1.76m (7.1%) for BBC Two during the 8pm hour, then 870k (3.4%) watched Who Needs Fathers at 9pm.
ITV1's coverage of the UEFA Champions League Live averaged 6.96m (28.6%) between 7.30pm and 10pm, making it the most-watched programme during primetime.
Over on Channel 4, Relocation, Relocation put in 2.16m (8.8%) at 8pm, then the audience climbed to 2.31m (9%) during the 9pm screening of Embarrassing Bodies: Charlotte's Story.

The Business Inspector and NCIS claimed 539k (2.2%) and 1.81m (7.1%) for Five at 8pm and 9pm respectively.
Overall, ITV1 came top during primetime with an average share of 24.3% to BBC One's 20.7%. Channel 4 was third with 7.9% (+1: 1%), followed by BBC Two with 5.7% and Five's 4%.
