For the first time in 50 years, the makers of the game UNO are releasing a spin-off game. It's called, appropriately, DOS. The game is similar to the format of UNO, with a few tweaks to the rules.

Here's how to play: The objective is the same, so the first person to get rid of all their cards wins. Each player starts with seven cards. Two cards, not one, start in the centre row of the game.

When it's your turn, you must match the number of your card with the number of one of the cards in the centre row.

If you match the number, you move the pair down and draw another card to go in the centre row.

If you match the number and the colour, you can discard another card, move that pile to the discard area, and draw another card to go in the centre.

The cards go from 1 through 10, 2 cards are wild for any colour, and there are wild cards that are a specific colour but can be used for any number. And once you have two cards in your hand, you have to yell "DOS!"

Sounds fine enough, right? Well, so far, there have been mixed reactions to the news. Some folks are totally against it, with Business Insider calling it "really bad".

While others, are extremely excited.

The spin-off game, which will cost $5.99 in the US, will be sold at Target starting in March, and then go on sale at other stores in August, according to The AP.

There's also an UNO smartphone app in the works, which is set to be available this spring, and there's already a version of UNO you can play through Facebook Messenger.
