Neighbours star Lloyd Will has addressed the controversial storyline involving Andrew Rodwell, noting that his character is at a "proverbial crossroads".
Andrew has embarked on an affair with Holly Hoyland in recent weeks, a secret he has kept from everybody including his wife Wendy. His deceit could be exposed soon, however, with prying eyes not too far away.
Will, who has played Andrew since 2020, shared in a clip posted on the soap's media channels that he was shocked by his character's actions, saying: "It was the last thing I ever thought Andrew would do, especially with her [Holly] being his daughter's best friend."
"That's like a no-go zone," he noted. "Andrew had really started to see Holly not as Sadie's friend, but as a woman who is complex [and] wise - like a force that kind of sparked the fire, which is now going."
"It's a Neighbours classic centrepiece style storyline, where it's going to divide the street and it's going to divide everybody," Will added. "So I was super excited to be involved in that."

"Andrew is at a proverbial crossroads. [He] and Wendy were high school sweethearts, so that leaves people in their 40s who haven't experienced anything else other than each other. That's fertile ground for drama."
While Will has reflected upon his character's decision, upcoming scenes will see the storyline take another twist as Aaron Brennan catches Andrew and Holly together, with the figure torn as to whether to inform Wendy.
"Aaron is horrified by his discovery," our Neighbours insider explains. "Andrew is his friend, but can he stand around and watch Wendy have her heart broken? It's a terrible secret to carry…"
Aaron isn't the first person to catch Andrew and Holly out after his boyfriend, Rhett Norman, revealed that he'd seen the pair kissing just weeks before. Aaron initially dismissed his suspicions, but now he has witnessed their relationship first-hand.

"Andrew feels sick – he's been caught out," our source continues. "He meets up with Aaron and pours his heart out, begging his mate to keep his secret. But the next day, Aaron calls a meeting…"
In the Rodwell backyard, Aaron is set to confront the cheating lovers, and while he ultimately agrees to keep their affair a secret, Wendy arrives on the scene with an increased sense of suspicion...
