Neighbours barman Aaron Brennan grows closer to Rhett Norman next week after hearing about his backstory for the first time.
The Aussie soap is exploring the early stages of a new romance for Aaron, who's looking to start moving on with his life after tragically losing his husband David Tanaka last year.
Viewers have just seen Aaron and Rhett have an unusual date in the city, as Rhett accompanied Aaron while he was on an errand for Yaz Shields.
There were some initial hurdles as Aaron struggled to make his way around the streets of Melbourne and kept awkwardly mentioning David's name, but Rhett tried his best to reassure him.

Next week, Leo Tanaka and Krista Sinclair throw their engagement party and suggest that Aaron should invite Rhett to be his plus-one.
Rhett agrees to come along, but he sparks intrigue when he gets repeatedly emotional upon seeing Aaron spending time with his daughter Isla.
When Aaron asks what's going on, Rhett explains that he has a daughter too but hasn't seen her for a long time.
Rhett says that he became a father years ago, but hasn't been able to spend any time with his daughter since then due to the wishes of her mother.

Now that Rhett is seeing Aaron with Isla, he's struck by how much that he's missing out on – although he knows that his daughter has a great life with her mum.
Aaron is moved by Rhett's story and moves in to kiss him for the first time. Are they one step closer to becoming a proper couple?
