Terese feels defeated in the wake of Moira's resident uprising. Paul doesn't believe the legal ultimatum they've given her can be enforceable, especially as Moira is getting her advice from Tim Collins, but it soon transpires that the contracts are on the residents' side.

At first, Terese is completely weighed down and unable to get off the couch – believing she has no choice but to sell up and move on. But Paul plans the perfect day designed to change her mind and she ends up realising it's too soon to sell. And even if she does one day, she should still be very proud of what she accomplished.

Terese passes on the news to Karl and Susan, confirming that she officially has no more plans for coming back. The Kennedys praise her for handling it with so much composure, but deep down it's killing Terese to step away, again, from everything she built.

Meanwhile, Shane and Jane catch up for a drink and their fun, nostalgic conversation takes on a distinctly flirty vibe when the subject of their long-ago relationship comes up. Nicolette and Max are intrigued to witness this, but when they question their parents the next day, Shane acts like it was nothing significant and Jane insists she's very glad it didn't go any further.

Later, Shane visits Jane to let her know that he's leaving town again, fondly recalling her youthful cheerleading talents and the vibes suddenly grow flirty again. Calling it out, Jane checks that this obviously isn't going any further. Shane agrees that it wouldn't be a good idea to ruin their friendship. But when Nicolette and Max pop over to the house later, they spring Jane and Shane in flagrante!

Elsewhere, Remi brings Cara home from hospital, but struggles to keep her resting as much as she should be after major surgery. Cara thinks Remi should put more trust in her to know her own body, but Remi instead proposes a bargain: she and Cara can begin to research known donor options, if Cara will just rest appropriately. Cara agrees, but also decides to get up in the night for a snack. As she's reaching for a top cupboard, she feels a painful stab in her abdomen.

The next day, Cara hides her accident from Remi, but it's clear the pain is still intense and something isn't right. With the help of too many painkillers, she's able to get excited about a book made by families who've gone the known donor route. But will her internal injuries lead to trouble?
