Nicolette is curious after catching her mum with Shane. Jane explains that, upon learning Melanie and Vic are officially together, Shane was there to comfort her. Nicolette helps Jane realise that she keeps turning to exes and old friends for romantic support.
When Shane and Jane agree they aren't in the right headspace for a new relationship, Jane is determined to have a fresh start and date a guy who isn't someone she already knows.
Shane heads back to Queensland, with Max thanking his dad for making sure he is no longer in danger.

Krista and Leo arrive in an attempt to take Seb home, but he won't go with them. The group leaves Seb, unaware that he's being watched by a shady looking guy. The guy is revealed to be a loan shark Seb owes money to.
When Leo gets wind of this, he believes Seb wants Krista to get him out of this mess. Leo demands that Seb leave Erinsborough for good because if he sticks around, Leo will make his life hell. Elsewhere, Remi notices Cara sweating a little, but Cara continues to hide the pain she's in. It's not long before Cara tells her wife that the painkillers she's taking are no longer working.
Remi books Cara in for a check-up at the hospital, but Cara never makes it. When they're due to leave, Remi finds Cara shivering, collapsed on the lawn and in desperate need of an ambulance.
