Neighbours spoilers follow for UK-pace episodes on Channel 5.

Neighbours' Aaron Brennan loses his cool with a fostering assessor next week.

Aaron (Matt Wilson) and his husband David (Takaya Honda) have decided that they want to be dads and are currently in the early stages of the fostering process.

While many of the other Ramsay Street residents are still enjoying the Lassiters Pride event with celebrity guest Courtney Act next week, Aaron and David are nervously preparing for their latest interview back at home.

Unfortunately, the mood changes when the questions take a more personal turn, delving into the history of Aaron and David's relationship.

Leila asks questions about previous arguments between the couple and whether they've ever broken up.

Before long, Aaron and David are reluctantly talking about dramas from the past that they'd rather forget, as well as tensions that they've experienced more recently.

Although Aaron and David believe they've managed to navigate their way through Leila's questions, the final straw comes when she suggests there could be drawbacks to having same-sex parents.

Leila asks Aaron and David whether they believe any child they foster would be missing out on having a female influence in their life.

Boldly standing up for what he believes in, Aaron refuses to answer the question and – in a tense moment – accuses Leila of being prejudiced.

Shocked by Aaron's tone, Leila quickly makes her excuses to leave, leaving the couple fearful that they've blown their chances. Will David support Aaron, or is their marriage heading for trouble?

Neighbours airs these scenes on Friday, June 26 at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5.
