Neighbours star Olivia Junkeer has hinted that Yashvi Rebecchi could be in danger as newcomer Scarlett continues to scheme.

The Ramsay Street residents are currently oblivious to a worrying hidden agenda from Scarlett (Christie Whelan Browne), who has come to Erinsborough because she's obsessed with Ned Willis.

Yashvi has been dating Ned (Ben Hall) in recent months, but Scarlett has already started trying to sabotage their relationship.

Asked by Digital Spy whether Yashvi could be in trouble as Scarlett gets worse, Olivia replied: "Yes, definitely. Yashvi – and her relationship – are very much in danger as Scarlett keeps going.

"Scarlett is ruthless and she doesn't know where to draw the line. She has no regard for Yashvi whatsoever.

"Scarlett shows no care for anybody's safety or their feelings. She's only interested in Ned. It becomes more and more painful as Scarlett continues."

She added: "This has been one of my favourite storylines. There's a lot of action, a lot of drama, a bit of comedy and a lot of heartbreak. We're showing all of the vulnerable sides of Yashvi, so it's been great.

"I think it will take Yashvi a while to realise what Scarlett is up to, only because she's so distracted by everything else going on in her life.

"It's Yashvi's last year of school and she's really trying to do well. She's also got her friendship with Mackenzie to focus on, and her relationship with Shane is quite up and down at the moment.

"It will take Yashvi a little bit of time to realise how unstable Scarlett is."

Next week's episodes see Ned tell Yashvi that he wants to take a break from their relationship, as Scarlett continues to make progress with her evil plan.

When Scarlett nearly kills Bea Nilsson by sabotaging her music equipment at The Waterhole, she stirs up trouble by downplaying the incident and telling Yashvi that Ned went overboard with trying to help his ex.

Yashvi later voices this to Ned, who's appalled that she could seemingly be so childish and selfish.

Olivia told us: "When Bea has her accident, Yashvi has no idea about it until later. Scarlett manipulates Yashvi and makes it sound like it wasn't a big deal. She jumps to conclusions constantly because of Scarlett.

"There is an age gap between Yashvi and Ned, so Scarlett really takes advantage of that and uses it to her advantage. She manipulates both Ned and Yashvi and plays on their insecurities. She's actually very, very clever.

"It drives a huge wedge between them and it's an obstacle they have to jump over."

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1.45pm and 5.30pm on Channel 5 (UK) and 6.30pm on 10 Peach (Australia).
