Home and Away spoilers follow for Australian-paced episodes that UK readers may wish to avoid.
Home and Away's latest crime storyline has seen a spate of robberies take place across Summer Bay, with residents and police completely clueless about who is perpetrating them.
The storyline takes a turn next week (a few weeks away in the UK), when gung-ho new cop Richie Brezniak accidentally shoots a beloved character.

Speaking to The West Australia, Richie actor Rocco Forrester-Sach explained more about the storyline, and his character.
"He's super enthusiastic, and as the crime wave escalates, Richie's passion and need to solve the case — and his need to prove himself — comes through," the actor stated.

"He's following a lead when things take a turn for the worst, and things go down and down from there."
He continued: "In the aftermath he is mortified and shocked when he realises what has happened. By the point it has happened, it is irreversible and the damage is done.

"As much as he wants to make it right, it might not be possible for him. When a life is on the line, even if a person pulls through, I think the fallout follows that person for a long time.
"[Richie] has got a lot of ground to pave to try to prove to people that he is a good guy."
But while his character is going through a tough time, Forrester-Sach is having a great time on the soap, as he enthused about being able to get in the sea minutes after filming wraps, and how playing a cop is like "my inner child is running rampant".
"I got to be in a cop car, and it is like, I'm a 12-year-old again, and I am out the back with my brother and we have sticks and we are shooting each other," he said.
Despite that, he said he couldn't ever see himself being a policeman or using a gun in real life.
Home and Away drops new episodes on weekdays at 6am on 5’s streaming service with a 6.30pm screening on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
