Hollyoaks' resurrected character James Nightingale made another appearance in tonight's episode as part of the soap's 30th anniversary celebrations.
Viewers know that James was seemingly killed off when he and Ste Hay were involved in a car explosion in the last episode before the show's time jump.
However, James made his shock return last week after a drunken Darren Osborne spotted him. Darren blackmailed James, saying he would keep it a secret that he was alive if James paid him.
In tonight's episode, James showed up again to surprise Peri Lomax, who recognised him as he drove out of the village during last week's episodes.
"No, this isn't real," Peri told James, saying that she thought she saw him outside The Dog. James said that her spotting him was the reason he was there.
"I don't understand how this is possible, there was the explosion," a shocked and frightened Peri said, before telling James he would have to explain himself to Ste.

Peri told James that Ste's life fell apart when he was presumed dead, and when James said that no good would come if Ste knew the truth, Peri told him: "Except he needs you. He's always needed you, James."
After James said that Ste had moved on, Peri said: "No, he loves you. He still loves you after all this time, I know he does."
Peri asked him to try to explain the truth to Ste and James said: "He couldn't forgive me, not after he finds out what I've done."
When Peri asked if she could explain the truth to Ste, to let him decide if he wants him in his life or not, James agreed to wait on a back road for an hour.

Peri said: "He'll be there. I promise."
Elsewhere in the episode, Clare Devine waited for Tori Devine-Banks to be brought to her so she could finally flee Hollyoaks village with her 'adopted' daughter.
There, Clare was met by Grace Black and Rex Gallagher, who told her that Tori was safe. Froggy turned up and the group got into a heated exchange. Clare pulled out a gun and, after a scuffle, she shot Grace.
Unbeknownst to Clare, the bullet also hit the plane, which Clare got in to escape after the shooting.
Unaware that Jez Blake was piloting the plane, the villains argued and a fight ensued as Jez threw Clare's money out of the window. Jez then lost control of the light aircraft after spotting it was leaking fuel.
Will Ste turn up, or will a looming plane crash interrupt his reunion with James?
Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.
