Hollyoaks has confirmed that Cleo McQueen will make a dramatic arrival at Abe and Peri's wedding in next week’s episodes.

Cleo has been held captive by her abusive partner Abe since the show's time jump, under the impression that the village hates her for causing his mum Marie's death in a motorbike accident.

Meanwhile, Abe is in a new relationship with Peri, and while Cleo believes he has split up with Peri, the pair are making the final preparations for their wedding.

What to Read Next

However, Cleo recently found out that Marie is still alive – and also discovered that Abe and Peri's wedding is still going ahead.

After realising that Abe has been lying to her, Cleo hatched a clever escape plan. She asked Abe to marry her the next day, after claiming that her eating disorder has returned worse than ever, and she feels she doesn't have long left to live.

In next week's episodes, Cleo puts her plan into motion and she and Abe read their vows to one another outside at the folly.

Cleo then collapses, and when Abe isn't able to bring her round, he wraps her in a blanket and puts her in the boot of his car.

The next day, Peri gets ready for her wedding. But after fearing that Abe was violent with her daughter, Leela isn’t convinced that he has changed – while remaining unaware that it was Abe who raped her at Theresa's party last year.

At the same time, Cleo wakes up by the riverbank, and in her muddy makeshift dress, she sets off to try and stop Abe and Peri's wedding.

She gets a helping hand from Pearl who offers to give her a lift to the village, and it has been confirmed that Cleo will crash the big ceremony.

New pictures released from the dramatic scenes show Cleo with a wild look in her eyes, seeming determined to get revenge on her partner who has caused her so much pain.

But will Cleo's plan be a success – and will the horrifying truth about Abe be revealed?

Hollyoaks airs on Mondays-Wednesdays with its Channel 4 streaming premiere at 7am, then an E4 broadcast the same night at 7pm. Full episodes are also released on YouTube a week after their Channel 4 release.

Selected omnibus episodes are available via Prime Video.
