Hollyoaks spoilers follow from Tuesday's (December 5) episode on Channel 4 streaming, which doesn't air on E4 until Wednesday (December 6).

Hollyoaks has revealed the outcome of James Nightingale holding Lucas Hay captive.

Yesterday's episode saw James lock his troublesome stepson Lucas, who he shares with husband Ste, in an abandoned shed in a move that mirrored the abusive way James' own dad Mac used to treat him when he was younger.

Tonight's Hollyoaks saw a worried Ste and Leah go into a panic when they discovered that Lucas' bed had not been slept in.

Covering for his own abusive behaviour, James lied telling them that Lucas had called to say he was staying at a friend's house. When James let Lucas out of the shed, he made Lucas promise not to tell anyone before he would let him out.

When Lucas told Ste the fake story about staying with a friend, his dad didn't believe him. "Something is off with him," Ste said to James.

After noticing that Lucas was struggling at school, Dillon reached out to a hurt Lucas who lashed out and smashed Dillon's hand with his locker door.
