Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
James Nightingale finds himself locked out of the home he shares with husband Ste Hay in scenes set to air next week.
Things start to unravel for the lawyer when he hears a voicemail from Leah, who is concerned that her brother Lucas has been drinking. James then tells Ste that he suspects his son has been up to no good.
Lucas, who has been blackmailing James, later comes clean to his dad and tells Ste that James arranged for Brent to be beaten up in prison.

After some advice from Tony, James tries to get back into Ste's good books by booking them a holiday to Benidorm. Ste accepts this offer, but insists that James must change his ways.

However, the reconciliation is short-lived when Ste realises that the invite for the holiday doesn't extend to his children. Ste is angry about Leah and Lucas being excluded and tells James to find somewhere else to stay for the night.
James takes refuge at the Lomaxes', but things don't improve later, when during talks to attempt to resolve things, James blurts out that he married Ste, not his children. Ste sees the children as part of the package and storms off.

Ste then arranges for the locks at their home to be changed and James finds himself stuck outside.
Feeling at a loss over what to do about the situation, James sulks around and takes his anger out on Peri, who, feeling under attack herself, takes her own bad mood out on Prince.
James later gets an opportunity to sneak back into his home. Ste sends the children out so they can sort things out once and for all, but can the pair get their marriage back on track?
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
