Sam Chen-Williams has been confirmed to return to Hollyoaks despite a dramatic exit earlier this month.
In scenes that aired at the beginning of September, viewers found out that the threatening messages Sam's ex-girlfriend Zoe was receiving were from Rayne, posing as Sam.
However, the policeman failed to convince his family that he was innocent, and departed the show – though it wasn't clear whether the exit was permanent.

In upcoming episodes of the long running soap, Sam is due to reappear in order to pressure his dad to come clean to the family that they are being evicted, as well as sharing his own news that he has been offered a fitness personal trainer job in LA.

Sam's sister Lizzie has come around to the fact that he wasn't actually responsible for harassing Zoe this time, and was set up by Rayne and Hunter (separately).
Despite the news of his return in episodes due to air next week, it is unclear how long Sam will be back in the village, given the lucrative offer of the job in LA.

Sam had a rocky time in Chester prior to his departure; earlier this year, Maxine reported him to the police after his initial obsession with former partner Zoe got too much – which was what led Rayne to dupe others into believing he had returned to his old activities.
Hollyoaks recent whoddunit storyline involves Rayne's apparent murder at a pool party hosted by the influencer – and culminated in a shock arrest in episodes that aired last night (September 26).
From Monday, September 25, Hollyoaks will stream first online via Channel 4 each weekday. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
