Hollyoaks has aired scenes showing Romeo Nightingale's girlfriend Rayne Royce finally getting caught out over her lies.

Earlier in the week, as Juliet's funeral approached, Rayne had a falling out with Romeo when she wanted to livestream the sad event and later turned around and told him that she had discovered a lump.

Lacey Lloyd accused her of lying, and in tonight's (July 5) first-look episode, tried to get her to admit it by stating that she had lied about the exact same thing with an ex. Rayne was initially adamant before admitting the truth, just as Nadira Valli walked by.

Rayne gave a long spiel about she has been really affected by Juliet's death, but stopped short of agreeing to tell Romeo she had lied. He soon walked through the village and spoke about how having to tell everyone his sister had passed was getting to him but rebuffed her offer to help, saying that she was going through enough as it was.

The influencer witnessed just how difficult the family have been finding the situation, and Donna-Marie Quinn's emotions took over to the point she smashed up the memorial planter she was gifted.

Rayne realised that she can't let Romeo carry on thinking she's got a lump and told Lacey she was going to tell him the truth — even though she was scared of the response. At the same time, Romeo admitted to his mum that he missed the funeral because of the lump and was scared he was going to have to go through all this again if Rayne takes a turn for the worse.

Elsewhere in the episode, Donna-Marie found it all too much and texted her drug dealer, with the final shot of the episode showing her out of it on the floor of the gym.
