Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Hollyoaks has aired a deadly secret about Norma Crow's past, as she explained the truth to Warren Fox about his father in emotional scenes.
Previous episodes have seen Norma desperately reaching out to her son in order to fix their relationship, after her disastrous scheme to take Warren and his children to another country. Tonight's (April 14) episode saw Norma make one last attempt to reach out to her son on his birthday.
But, despite Mercedes' pleas, Warren remained defiant – telling her that Norma's promise to leave his life for good would be "the best birthday present ever".
However Mercedes was convinced something was strange about Norma's message and decided to visit the address herself, against Warren's wishes.

She arrived to find Norma in a derelict building, where Norma revealed the demolition had pushed her to finally reveal what actually happened to Warren's father.
Back in the village Warren was about to begin his birthday celebrations when he received an urgent call from Mercedes, telling him to make his way over to the address immediately.
He arrived just as Norma explained to Mercedes that Warren's dad hadn't died in a car crash, he was violent and Norma had killed him to protect her son.
"That's why I came back here. Warren's so-called father was a violent, vicious, aggressive bully," she said.
"Yes I killed him and I buried him in this house. It was because of him that I had to give up my son."

The revelation finally allowed the pair to have an emotional heart to heart. Norma confessed that she gave Warren up to protect him and reassured her son that he is nothing like his father.
"I have done some terrible things for survival. Except the day I gave you up," she said tearfully.
"Why did you suffer for so long, why didn't you just tell me what happened," Warren replied.
Will the truth allow mother and son to heal their relationship?
