Hollyoaks spoilers follow.
Today's (January 5) first-look episode of Hollyoaks opened with James informing Maxine that Eric's former flatmate, Seamus, would soon be with them to fill them in on what he knew about the mysterious man.
Maxine, of course, was excited about the idea of finally getting to the bottom of her suspicions about Eric's character... and whether or not he is, as she suspects, a murderer.
She exclaimed to James: "I've been harping on that something's not quite right about Eric for months, and no one believed me!"

James made it clear that he was on her side. Soon enough Seamus turned up, with Maxine telling him: "You need to tell us everything you know about Eric."
What to Read Next
Seamus, while shocked by the idea that Eric may have killed his own sister, confirmed that he had been "odd around women".
Eerily, Seamus then shared a story about Eric snooping through a female tenant's items, and how he witnessed a dramatic reaction from Eric: "I know from experience he has a violent temper and some serious issues. In my opinion, if he was pushed, Eric could be an incredibly dangerous man."
Armed with the knowledge that Eric's behaviour was a pattern, Maxine was quick to act.
She decided to go to the police, but promised she wouldn't do anything dangerous despite her lack of evidence. Soon enough, Eric got a knock at the door from a police officer, who asked him to go down to the station.

Throwing off Eric's attempted diversions, the officer said: "We had a tip off from a member of the public that you'd been seen with a spiking kit."
The policeman had a kit on him that was recovered from a bin near the pub with Eric's name on it. Eric rightly claimed that he'd been set up, and as he was taken away he spotted Maxine watching him.
While Maxine had managed to get Eric taken in for crimes he did commit, she didn't go about it in a completely legal way. Will Eric finally go down for his behaviour, or will Maxine find herself the one in trouble?
