Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

On tonight's (October 13) episode of Hollyoaks, we saw Imran's mother Misbah finally realise that her son has an eating disorder, something he has been privately struggling with for months now.

In case you missed it, on Wednesday's (October 12) episode, we saw Imran admitted to hospital after injuring himself while trying to impress a food critic during his training. The burn he had sustained ended up becoming infected, which led to him almost fainting and being rushed to the hospital.

And now, in today’s episode, we see Misbah finally come to the realisation that Imran has an eating disorder.

Throughout the episode, Imran is disoriented and confused as to how he got to the hospital and makes several attempts to try and leave.

The voice inside his head tells him that everyone – especially his mother – is trying to take control of his life and that they're not trying to actually help him.

An upset Misbah then goes outside to talk to her family and slowly pieces together the fact that maybe Imran's problems aren't physical, but mental, as if it was something physical it would show up in the reports.

"He's always at home, or at the gym or out running," pointed out various family members.

"His obsessive need for control, watching his nutrition, his moods… being so secretive. The self hatred language he was using…" Misbah wonders aloud as she starts to realise what is really going on.

She then goes back to Imran's hospital room and informs him of her suspicions

"Imran, I think you might be suffering with an eating disorder,: she tells him, as voices inside Imran's head tell him that once again his mother is trying to take control of his life.

"I'm scared that if you don't get control of this soon… I'd like you to talk to a psychiatrist," she concluded.

This caused Imran to lash out and throw a fit, which leads to Misbah being asked to leave the room as the hospital staff tried to calm him.
