Hollyoaks star Jeff Rawle has addressed his character Silas Blissett's death in last night's (September 28) dramatic double episode.

After Silas kidnapped the McQueen clan and forced them to participate in a life-size game of electrified chess, his protégé, Bobby Costello, took his evil grandfather down once and for all by pushing him onto the fatal chessboard and killing him.

Having played the serial killer since 2010, Rawle has now opened up about Silas's death and whether there's any possibility of his return in the future.

Despite Silas's fatal end and Hollyoaks confirming this will mark his final chapter in the show, it seems Rawle has some other hopes and plans of his own for the character.

When asked by Radio Times if he was sad about his exit from the soap, Rawle replied: "Is it ever the end of anybody in a soap? Harold Bishop [Neighbours] returned from the dead! Part of me wonders if there is a larger gameplan, there is something fascinating about that."

Rawle also claims to have found a "flaw" in Silas's plan and suggests that he and Bobby might have come up with another of their own.

"I had worked out a fatal flaw in the logic of Silas's plan which could be manipulated," he said. "So, if you wanted to, you could possibly keep him alive… Is there something him and Bobby might've secretly cooked between them?

"Perhaps Silas was wearing a special protective suit under his clothes, even though it looks like he had 2,000 vaults put through him!"

Considering Bobby is shown taking Silas's cap in the post-credits sequence, it's possible he could continue his grandfather's reign of terror...
