Hollyoaks has aired a heartbreaking decision for Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) in tonight's episode (September 13) as he disowned his own son.

Previously, Warren was left for dead in a hit-and-run and viewers later found out that his son Joel was the driver who ran him down, but Warren only discovered the truth in recent episodes.

After Norma (Glynis Barber) told Warren his attacker would be in the church, Warren shot him without realising who it was.

In tonight's episode Warren kidnapped Norma's driver and blamed her for setting him up to kill his son.

"I didn't know it was Joel, my intel may have been a little lacking in this instance," admitted Norma.

A furious Warren pulled a gun on Norma, but he later relented, saying he believed her and releasing her driver.

Norma then told Warren that he had to deal with Joel.

"You need to get rid of your son, one way or another," she said.
