Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson has confirmed she is single again.
The Maxine Minniver actress announced on Wednesday (July 8) that she has ended her five-year relationship with boyfriend Greg Whitehurst, according to The Sun.
"Sadly, Greg and I have decided to separate. We remain friends and wish the best for each other in the future," she said.
Sanderson's relationship with Whitehurst generated a lot of press and fan attention when they first got together, when some questioned the timing of their coupling.

Appearing on Loose Women in 2016, she set the record straight about how they started dating "not long" after he'd ended a marriage.

"His marriage came to an end and he was left heartbroken," she said. "It wasn't much longer after his marriage broke down that Greg and I started dating. People presumed that I had broken his marriage up and wrecked his life, and unfortunately I got all the blame for it and a lot of abuse online for it.
"I had nothing to do with it. Greg and I have been friends for many years... People presume [I'm to blame] because I was at their wedding. Well, why wouldn't I have been? I was a family friend."

Prior to joining Hollyoaks, Sanderson dated her former Coronation Street co-star Danny Young for four years. Their characters, Candice Stowe and Warren Baldwin, had been romantically involved on-screen.
Hollyoaks airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing on E4 at 7pm. Wednesdays through Fridays on E4 feature classic episodes called Hollyoaks Favourites.
