Sometimes drama can follow soap stars around in real life as well as on TV, like what happened with Adam Thomas. The Emmerdale, Waterloo Road, and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! star revealed that he recently got "robbed" by someone he's known for a while.

On the latest episode of his podcast, At Home with the Thomas Bros, Adam told siblings Scott and Ryan in a light-hearted exchange that he got into a bit of beef with the owner of a corner shop.

"I got robbed!" he said. "So I went to [a] local off-licence, I was buying some sweets for the kids. And I went to pay for it and I paid for it, and I looked at the card machine, and it said £100."

Adam explained that he then confronted the shopkeeper, who responded that the star "didn't need" the money, as he had just come out of the I'm A Celeb jungle.

"I looked him dead in the eyes," Adam continued, "Like, don't get me wrong, I had banter with this guy, we have a little bit of a laugh back and forth and everything. I was just a bit caught off guard."

Adam claimed that the staff member "would've taken" his £100, if he hadn't checked the sum he'd paid.

He then added another wrinkle to his story, saying that the man in the shop "always gives my kids free sweets and stuff", joking that maybe the £100 charge was him "getting his money back".

After he told the shopkeeper not to "take the piss", Adam explained that weeks went by before he went into the store again.

He said when he went in there, the shopkeeper was "so apologetic" and had been waiting to give him his money back, saying he had just done it "as a joke" and "didn't mean to offend".

"I felt really bad and at one point I was gonna go, 'You know what, keep the money, it's not about the money'," Adam went on.

Adam then jokingly stated that he ended up giving the shopkeeper his bacon roll and croissant, which caused his brothers to burst out laughing. The pair said he was the only person to "reward" someone for robbing them.

At Home with the Thomas Bros can be streamed on various podcast platforms.
