Emmerdale's Caleb Miligan considers a shocking life of crime next week after a cruel con leaves him questioning everything.
Caleb is about to lose £5,000 at the worst possible time, as mischievous teen Archie Breckle targets him using fake audio.

In upcoming scenes, Archie uses Artificial Intelligence to create an 'AI Steph', which sounds just like Caleb and Ruby's absent daughter.
'AI Steph' claims to need help raising a deposit for a flat in London, so Caleb sends over five grand without questioning it.

Next week, it dawns on Caleb that he was conned out of the cash and he feels humiliated that the mystery scammer managed to fool him so easily.
"Caleb wants revenge, which is bad news for Archie," explains our Emmerdale insider. "By this point, Kerry is also involved in covering for Archie after discovering what he's been up to, so she should be worried too!
"Although Caleb decides to call the police to investigate the crime and bring the perpetrator to justice, he starts to realise that something bigger is bothering him…"

During a heart-to-heart with his employee Billy Fletcher, Caleb expresses fears that he's lost his edge over the past year or so. Even before this, the business was struggling due to the robbery carried out by Charity Dingle.
Caleb vows to start a counterfeit goods operation and believes the depot would be the perfect base for it. Caleb also reckons Billy would make a great partner in crime, so urges him to get involved in return for a cut of the profits.
"Caleb has settled down since moving to the village – it's a far cry from the man who turned up with a grand masterplan to steal Home Farm from Kim Tate," continues our source.
"Fearing that he's seen as an easy target, Caleb wants to fight back and show what he's made of. Although he'll have to be discreet about it unless he wants a visit from PC Swirling…"

Billy seriously considers Caleb's proposition, but the moment of truth comes when his boss asks him to carry out a pick-up for the illegal side hustle. Caleb promises 8% of the profits to Billy if he completes the job successfully.
There's one more condition – Caleb wants Billy to keep their scheme secret from Jai Sharma.
Caleb is full of excitement over this new direction, but not much gets past Jai at the depot. Is Caleb asking for trouble?
