Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Celia Daniels and Ray Walters' reign of terror in Emmerdale has had fans gripped, but surely the end is nigh for the evil duo. As we head towards the climax of this explosive storyline, we have to take a moment to applaud actors Jaye Griffiths and Joe Absolom. They've played their roles to terrifying perfection and we'll be sorry to see them go when their downfall inevitably arrives.
But how will Celia and Ray get their comeuppance? And who – or what – will destroy this malevolent mother and son?
Here 11 ways we reckon it could go…
1. Cain kills them both
If there's one person who can bring Celia and Ray down, then it's Cain Dingle. Rhona has been pleading with Marlon to let Cain help them, but for some ridiculous reason he won't tell his cousin the truth.
Marlon had the perfect chance to out Ray when Cain walked in on their row, but chose to spin him that lie about a car crash.
What to Read Next
Marlon is not utilising his resources, but we know Cain is cleverer than he gives him credit for. If he does work out what's going on, Celia and Ray might as well start digging their own graves.
2. Cain and Rhona join forces
How awesome would it be to see Cain and Rhona teaming up to rid the village of Celia and son?
It would give fans the dream team-up of real-life couple Jeff Hordley and Zoe Henry. Cain would kill for his family, and pushed to the edge, Rhona might turn murderous too.
3. April goes back to the police
An easy way out of all this would be if April went back to the police. Marlon's first attempt was thwarted when April fled the station in fear. But if Marlon can persuade her to go back, there's a chance it could lead to Celia and Ray's arrest.
The evidence against them is stacking up, particularly now Ray's stolen £20,000 from Marlon and Rhona. But will April find the courage to give a statement and let the law do the rest?
4. April discovers Callum isn't dead
April is refusing to go to the police because Celia and Ray have made her believe she's a murderer. What would happen if she finds out Callum is still alive?
And while we're on the subject, haven't April, Marlon and Rhona found it even a teeny bit suspicious there's been no reports on the news or social media of Callum's disappearance? April needs to get back round to his house and stick around along enough to see who answers the door.
5. Ross comes to the rescue
Ross promised to always be there for April, but fat lot of good he is to her in Liverpool.
The character's unfortunately timed departure has coincided with actor Mike Parr's paternity leave, but we need Ross back. And fast. He's like a second dad to April, and would sort Celia and Ray out in five minutes flat.
6. Moira discovers Celia's true nature
Moira's another victim of Celia and Ray's manipulation. This week, the penny drops when Moira discovers Celia has been forging her signature on invoices for tons of turkeys. She flies into a rage and publicly attacks Celia.
Now she's realised her fellow farmer is a fraudster, Moira is determined to put a stop to Celia's operation. Will her pursuit for justice uncover further murky truths?
7. Anya's corpse is discovered
It's been nearly a month since tragic Anya was buried under Holly Barton's tree, and her grave is yet to be discovered. Surely, it's only a matter of time before Moira sees the earth on her land has been disturbed?
And then there's the red ribbon which Anya wore round her wrist and that Bear tied to the tree. Ruby knows the significance of that ribbon. The chances of her passing through Butler's field are slim, but what if she were to spot it? It could be the key to all this unravelling.
8. Brainwashed Bear turns against Ray
Brainwashed Bear, or should we say Ted, seems to be suffering from a case of Stockholm Syndrome. He's desperate to remain under Ray and Celia's control, despite knowing the despicable things they've done.
But just how deep does Bear's loyalty run? Might he come to his senses and suddenly turn on Ray? Let's not forget he used to be a champion wrestler back in his day. We're sure he could slam dunk them both.
9. Dylan drops Celia and Ray in it
Everyone was expecting Dylan to die after being brutally mowed down by Ray's motor, but by some miracle his condition improved and doctors decided to bring him out of his coma.
Under pressure from April, frightened Dylan chose to tell the police that he didn't remember what had happened. But will this silence last forever?
10. Ray sees the light and betrays Celia?
Celia is rotten to the core, but Ray actually does have a moral conscience. Recent weeks have seen him wrestling between good and evil, and considering a life free from his mum's clutches. Ray might have carried out the most appalling crimes, but he's also a victim, who's been groomed and manipulated most of his life. Will viewers see him choosing love and happiness with Laurel over staying with Celia?
We know that Jaye Griffiths has confirmed that her stay in the show will be finite, but there's been no confirmation of Joe Absolom's exit. Is Ray going to betray her, then stick around in the village?
11. Just tell everyone
Here's one last suggestion. Instead of telling just one person, why don't Marlon, Rhona and April let every single Emmerdale local know there's evil amongst them?
Faced with an angry mob, Celia wouldn't stand a chance. Even she isn't capable of wiping out the entire village.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
