Emmerdale’s Charity Dingle coerces Liam Cavanagh into striking up a friendship with Mackenzie Boyd next week, then blackmails him when it doesn’t go to plan. But what does she have over the village doc?
Still furious about Mack’s bromance with Ross, Charity grabs an opportunity to convince Liam to sidle up to her husband, hoping that the resulting friendship could leave Ross out in the cold…
"Ross is away in Liverpool with his brother Pete, but even still, Charity is obsessed with his closeness to Mack," says our Emmerdale insider.
"So, when Liam brands the friendship ‘sweet’, Charity pounces and convinces the GP to foster his own relationship with Mack. It’s a long shot – but from her perspective, if Liam becomes best friends with Mack, then Ross has one less advantage over her…"

The next day, Liam follows Charity’s instructions, but the devious scheme crumbles when he and Mack fall out over a game. As a result, Liam confesses to Charity that there is no hope for their friendship.
However, just when it looks as though Charity’s plot is dead in the water, the pregnant mum comes across damning information about Liam.
"For once, Charity is in luck!" exclaims our mole. "Everything changes for her when she becomes privy to a secret about Liam. And the next time they’re together, Charity explains that he needs to reconnect with Mack, or he’ll regret it…"

As Charity weaponises her knowledge, will Liam give into her demands? And if so, will Mack ever uncover the real motive behind Liam’s interest in him?
It’s quite a dramatic week for Liam, who is already reluctantly keeping a big secret about Robert’s prison husband Kev.
Liam recently discovered that Kev has been exaggerating his heart condition and doesn’t have a terminal illness – but as a GP, he is forced to keep this to himself because of patient confidentiality.

Next week, Liam thinks about confiding in Chas about something, but ultimately decides not to tell his partner the truth.
