Emmerdale spoilers follow from Wednesday's episode (October 30), which is available to watch now on streaming service ITVX but hasn't yet aired on ITV1.

Emmerdale has offered fresh hope that evil Tom King could finally get his comeuppance.

The villain was taken down to the police station for a fresh round of questioning in Wednesday's episode following damning revelations from his own family.

Earlier this week, Nicola King spoke to her young stepson Carl about why he seemed so frightened around Tom.

This led to the truth coming to light over Tom's missing tablet computer, which contained evidence confirming that he abused his wife Belle.

Tom threatened Carl in his efforts to retrieve the tablet and the schoolboy ultimately witnessed him destroying the device to cover his tracks.

In Wednesday's visit to the village, Nicola decided to do the right thing by reporting her deceitful nephew to the police. She took Carl down to the station to share everything he knew about the Tom and Belle case.

Before long, the police returned to the village to summon Tom back down to the station.

With Tom gone, a furious row followed between Nicola and her husband Jimmy, who's still ignoring the red flags and supporting his nephew.

Jimmy accused Nicola of disloyalty by going to the police and he challenged her to clarify whether she believes Belle's allegations of domestic violence.

Nicola replied: "Yes, I do. For God's sake, Jimmy, wake up. This family doesn't include that man, not anymore.

"What about your own son? Carl is terrified of him, what does that tell you?"

She added: "Poor misunderstood Tom, yet again the victim of us vindictive, irrational women, right?"

Although Jimmy predicted that the police wouldn't find any evidence to charge Tom with, Nicola stood her ground and insisted that she'd done the right thing.

Could this tense situation tear Nicola and Jimmy apart?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
