Former Emmerdale star Liam Fox has announced his next project following his departure from the soap.
Fox exited the ITV show earlier this year after 12 years in the role of Dan Spencer, and has now revealed his next career move, with the actor set to present The Saturday Sports Roundup on Happy Radio UK between 2pm and 6pm.
“After 12 years and 1,000 episodes of playing Dan, I’m so grateful to the Happy Radio team for giving me this opportunity for a fresh adventure,” he said (via LeedsLive). “I’ve always dreamed of being both an actor and presenter, so to finally get behind the microphone with this exciting growing station is the perfect opportunity for me.

“Growing up as an avid listener of Piccadilly and KEY 103 radio, I have always felt that local radio was massively important. Hopefully, I can play a small part in helping Happy Radio become the most listened to station in the North West.”
“We’re incredibly excited to add Liam Fox to our presenter line up,” added station co-owners Darren Proctor and Max Eden. “He’s a huge fan of the station and sports, so is the perfect choice.

Fox’s final appearance came in August, with Dan being sent to prison following the manslaughter of Lloyd Sawyer. The actor spoke about his final storyline, revealing that he had been contemplating exiting the soap for a while.
“I had actually got to a point where I had been starting to think I needed a change to perhaps leave but I was struggling to have the bottle to make it,” he said. “When the producers first told me about what was going to happen to Dan, my immediate reaction was 'this is brilliant.'”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
