Emmerdale airs the first two flashbacks of its special murder mystery week in Monday's episode (October 30).

The Dingle family are about to take centre stage as they're all suspects in the unexplained death of Craig Reed.

In Monday's visit to the village, Lydia Dingle gathers her family together at The Woolpack to break the news that Craig's body has been found on Home Farm land.

Lydia makes it clear that she suspects someone in the family has taken revenge against Craig over her recent rape ordeal.

As Lydia already knows that her husband Sam teamed up with Cain to tie up Craig in a remote barn, she starts her interrogation with them.

A series of flashbacks then show what happened in the barn.

James Hooton, who plays Sam, recently told us: "When Sam found out that Lydia was raped, it was a shock and he experienced all of the emotions that come from finding out something like that. Sam is a bit lost at some points, but he just wants to make sure that his wife is okay.

"That's what leads to Sam and Cain taking matters into their own hands by kidnapping Craig in a farm outhouse building. Sam is quite an emotional character."

Meanwhile, Monday's episode also sees Belle's alibi come under scrutiny.

Belle reveals that Tom King surprised her with a romantic meal and proposed to her, which kept her busy at the time that Craig was targeted.

However, Belle is not giving a full account of the day, as seen in the next set of flashbacks. What is she hiding?

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
