Aaron Dingle has chosen to stay in the village in Emmerdale.
He was recently brought back to the Dales against his will by uncles Cain Dingle and Caleb Miligan once they found out he'd gone off the rails with grief over sister Liv's death.
Aaron has continued to act out since returning, most recently cruelly taunting his father-figure Paddy Dingle in shocking scenes on Monday (October 16).
Vinny had encouraged Paddy to go visit Aaron, explaining that he was in a bad way. Paddy first went to see Chas, who stunned him by confessing that Aaron hated her because of her affair with Al.

"He was vile. I don't think I've ever seen him this bad," Chas admitted.
Paddy insisted that "someone needs to get through to him", so he took on that job himself. Yet, Paddy was wholly unprepared for Aaron to sink so low as to mock his suicidal thoughts.
"I heard all about that, how you didn't have the guts to go through it. Pathetic, Paddy," Aaron cruelly said.
Paddy sat in stunned silence as Aaron suggested the family would be "better off" without him. He continued trying to get through to Aaron, promising he'd always be there to support his son.
"That's a lie," Aaron shot back.
Paddy vowed that he'd "never do anything like that", telling him: "I love you, Aaron."
Any thawing that may have occurred was ruined later when Aaron turned up to see the family toasting Faith Dingle on the anniversary of her passing, as he'd obviously not been invited.
An irate Aaron broke into the till and stole some cash, but only grew more upset when he reunited with his family.
He considered leaving the village for good before being stopped in his tracks by Vinny. He tried to make Aaron see that it was no use running away from his memories of Liv because they were "everywhere out there".
"That's what I realised from being here. I feel close to her," Vinny assured him.
Aaron started to drive away anyway, but hit the brakes after only a few paces. He shut off the car, and then told Vinny that he would be staying after all.
