Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Jessie Elland has addressed Mackenzie Boyd's huge dilemma in the soap's upcoming crash storyline.

The shocking scenes are set to air next week as part of Super Soap Week, and will kick off when Jessie's character Chloe Harris learns that Mack and Charity Dingle slept together recently.

While she initially feels like she can give Mack another chance, things take an emotional turn for Chloe again when she spots and misinterprets Mack and Charity embracing (with the couple actually saying goodbye) and decides to take revenge.

With the vehicle teetering on the edge of a cliff, Mack manages to escape, and faces a horrific choice over who to save as the car starts to slip off.

Speaking about who she personally hopes he picks, Jessie said: "Not that I’m biased… but I think he should definitely pick Chloe – she is the mother of his child after all!"

The actress also opened up further about the "tense" atmosphere at the start of the scenes when Chloe picks Charity up.

"There are so many layers to unpick that it makes for a pretty suffocating environment," she explained. "But it was super fun getting to play Chloe’s fake positivity with all the tension and anger simmering underneath."

Speaking about filming the moment, the star said she was "a bit nervous," recalling: "I’d never done anything like that before. But Matt our director is so brilliant and really helped me navigate those scenes, so I’m excited to see how they turn out!"

Jessie went on to admit that the crash sequence was the "most fun [she'd] ever had filming," as she detailed the production process.

"For the actual impact scene we got to go in a gimbal which is like a huge cylinder with the car suspended in the centre that slowly spins around," she said. "It was so brilliant, me and Lawrence [Robb] actually ruined one of the takes because we were laughing at how fun it was.

"The makeup I got to wear for the filming was one of my highlights as well. Megan who did my makeup is so incredible, it looked so real I honestly couldn’t stop staring at it. Though it’s SO disorientating to see your face covered in blood and cuts and bruises but not actually feel any pain."

Jessie also revealed that she'd "never done any stunts before" and was "beyond excited" to film them.

"I think because I was so excited I didn’t actually process the heights/whole dangling-off-of-a-cliff aspect and I just loved every second of it, especially when the car was rocked, it was like a rollercoaster ride," she added.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
