Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale has confirmed that Charles Anderson will not face criminal changes over Alex Moore's hit-and-run.

The vicar had turned nasty towards Alex during a hospital visit when he warned the thief to leave town or Charles would make sure he turned up dead.

Charles was protecting Billy Fletcher from confessing he accidentally ran down Alex, even if it meant Charles would have to take the rap for the crash.

Their discussion was interrupted when DS Raveley stopped by to share the news that he would be cleared of the hit-and-run after forensics came back.

Alex had corroborated Charles' explanation that they'd had an earlier scuffle, plus CCTV footage showed he'd been telling the truth about the route his car took at the time of the crash.

"Sorry for any inconvenience caused," the DS told them.

While Dawn was packing to run away with Billy over at Home Farm, Charles decided he needed to pay Alex one more visit to clear the air.

Will he be able to get through to Alex?
