Emmerdale's Gabby Thomas is rejected by Nicky in new scenes

Gabby Thomas is set to be left distraught after being rejected by Nicky in new scenes on Emmerdale.

Last month, the soap kicked off a new romance storyline for Gabby after Nicky is hired to be a nanny at Home Farm, with Gabby immediately smitten with him.

In new scenes set to air on the soap, Gabby continues to work at Home Farm for Kim, especially after Dawn dropped out of the running for the job.

Gabby suggests that they expand the business to schools, leaving Kim impressed with the pitch and showing expectation that Gabby delivers on it.

Gabby networks with Nicola, councillor Colin and guests from local schools the next day, though a shaky start to her speech leaves Kim concerned. However, Gabby stands her ground when pressed by Nicola on the safety element of the activities.

Nicola is sold on the idea, leading to Kim offering Gabby the position of deputy.

While grabbing a bottle of champagne afterwards, Gabby urges Nicky to stick around for the celebrations, before leaning in for a kiss.

Nicky is taken aback and tells her that he doesn't like her like that. Dawn witnesses the events, leaving Gabby humiliated.

Speaking previously about his character Nicky, actor Lewis Cope teased there's more than meets the eye, telling Digital Spy and other media: "At the moment, Nicky is a lovely person and there's nothing to say that he's not.

"But he's almost too good to be true – you'll have to wait and see."
