Emmerdale's Jai Sharma attacks Kit over betraying Laurel

Jai Sharma has attacked Kit for betraying Laurel Thomas in Emmerdale.

Love rat Kit, aka Christopher, was caught red-handed for seeing both Laurel and her step-daughter Gabby Thomas behind one another's back in some truly awkward scenes.

Thursday's hour-long episode (August 11) dealt with the aftermath of Gabby and her former step-mum Laurel trying to figure how they could have been duped by Kit.

Gabby tried to make Laurel feel better by assuring her Kit is the one who "should be embarrassed", then promised Ashley [Laurel's late husband] would send her someone who'd "fight to be with [her]" someday.

"I don't think I even want that," Laurel admitted.

Laurel arrived at Marlon and Rhona's wedding to find Kit complimenting her as "a sight for sore eyes", but she quipped: "How about a sight for two black eyes? Stay away from me."

At the reception, Laurel called Kit a "creep" for preying on both her and Gabby — and Jai, understandably, did not like hearing that.

"I'm just a single guy doing what single guys do," Kit claimed before Jai punched him in the face.

A mortified Laurel rushed off after wishing the newlyweds congrats, with Jai giving chase. Jai admitted to Laurel that he'd been angry because she didn't deserve that kind of treatment.

"Not from me. Not from any man," Jai admitted. "You're worth so much more."

The two made up with a laugh over Jai's sore hand, as Laurel offered to help find him some ice. Jai joked that Ashley would never hit another man at a wedding, which reminded Laurel of Gabby's comment from earlier about a man fighting for her.

"Life, it's funny, isn't it?" she asked.

Is the spark rekindled for Jai and Laurel?
