Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale's Charity and Mackenzie have a big heart-to-heart in today's (July 29) episode about whether they should keep the baby that Charity is expecting.
It was revealed in Thursday's (July 28) hour-long episode that Charity is pregnant and had been keeping this information from Mackenzie, even considering terminating the baby in fear that it would make him feel obligated to stay in the relationship for the sake of the baby.
This hurts Mackenzie, who says that she should have at least involved him in that decision. He then proceeds to tell her how much he wants to be a father and that although it's Charity's choice what she wants to do as it is her body, he would love it if she kept it.

However, Charity is still not convinced. She tells Mackenzie that raising a child is a very big responsibility, that she's scared of changing the dynamic the two have together and that they might end up hating each other due to the added pressure of caring for a newborn. But, he reassures her that it will all be fine.

"I keep on thinking of all those silly, stupid cliches of all the firsts…the first sports day at school, or the first cake, the first underage drink, and I wanna be there for that," he says, "I want that. I guess I want to prove that a dad can be there for that because mine wasn't.
"There is no one I would rather raise a child with than you. I would give everything I have got to you and that child. And I'd be the best dad that I can be."

In the end, the pair decide to keep the baby.
"You have to choose as well; otherwise, you're giving in to pressure," Mackenzie tells Charity when she says she is ready to keep the baby.
"I do; I'm just not used to this. Having a co-pilot from the off. Gonna take a lot of re-learning," she replies.
"It's new for me too. The truth is I didn't know how much I wanted it until you were about to take it away," Mackenzie admits.
Charity then jokes about baby number five being the limit, and the pair seal the decision with a hug.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
