Emmerdale confirms Sandra Flaherty's betrayal of Liv

Emmerdale has revealed Sandra Flaherty's betrayal of Liv.

Sandra recently returned to the village to beg daughter Liv and her partner Vinny Dingle for help in getting rid of dodgy Terry so she can start a new life.

Liv has been torn on whether to let her mum back in her life over fears that either of them could relapse. In Tuesday's episode (July 12), it was revealed Liv's scepticism had been bang on the money.

Vinny warned Liv that their plan to pay off Terry so he'd leave Sandra alone might backfire, yet they went through with it anyway and the crook took all of their cash.

The truth behind this exchange of cash was only shown later when Sandra secretly met up with Terry, revealing they'd come up with a scam together to steal from Liv and Vinny.

With the money now split between them, Sandra revealed to Terry that her real plan is to rinse Liv of everything she has and then disappear once again.

Emmerdale star Joanne Mitchell recently opened up about how the soap has changed so much since her previous visit to the village last year.

"This time it was really good fun because it's a great character to play and obviously it's good playing with Izzy who plays Liv. In previous stints, mostly all my work was with Izzy and Danny Miller who played Aaron," the actress told Digital Spy.

"So this time it's going to be great to expand and work with other members of the cast. It's just seeing a few more layers to Sandra's character and just developing her a bit more and seeing where the journey goes. I think it'll be really good, yeah I'm pleased, it's a great bunch of people to work with."
