Emmerdale star Chris Bisson predicts big feud for Jai's future

Chris Bisson has predicted a big feud to come for Jai Sharma on Emmerdale.

As fans will know, Kim Tate is currently threatening to kick Jai and Laurel Thomas out of their home, which will lead to some big heartbreak next week as Laurel discovers Jai's fraudulent loan in her name.

Tension between Kim and Jai is made worse given they work together at Hawksford Outdoor Pursuits – so could a big feud be on the horizon?

Speaking to Digital Spy and other media about his dream storyline for his character, Chris replied: "I don't know about my dream storyline, but there's a story that it looks like we could shape up.

"Obviously I can't go too much into what the fallout from this particular story is, but Jai head-to-head with Kim really. She has now taken the house away, or is about to try and take the house away, and I think there's a lot of animosity there.

"Business-wise Jai will certainly feel like he wants to have the upper hand and he wants to prove himself and also not let Kim win.

"A big pitch battle for power and control and success would be on the cards there, which would be lovely to play because I love working with Claire as well."

As for his favourite storyline, the star admitted that he found Jai's kidnapping of ex-wife Charity Dingle, and almost killing her, "outlandish".

"He went into a very, very dark place when he thought he was going to lose his son because Charity had conspired to get rid of his son and get rid of Rachel," Chris recalled. "That whole period of stealing Charity from Cain, then having a ding-dong battle with the Dingles, that was all great fun.

"I look back and I've done so many storylines now. But obviously something that was also memorable was doing the live episode because it was something completely different and a great experience. I've had so many great experiences with so many great actors on the show."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
