Another year, another Big Soap Quiz for Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
Hosted by Stephen Mulhern, this year's edition of the quiz saw Jack P Shepherd once again captain the Corrie team, consisting of himself, Simon Gregson and Sair Khan, while Mark Charnock took the lead for Emmerdale, alongside Karen Blick and Jay Kontzle.
Emmerdale is reigning champion of the annual competition, but with the overall score sitting at three wins for each soap, it was all to play for in tonight's showdown (December 21).
And following one of the tighter contests the show has seen in recent years, it was team Emmerdale who once again claimed victory, making it three wins on the trot now.
The farm soap lot pipped their rivals by just two points as the quiz finished 20-22. Team Corrie seriously need to up their game.
With the bragging rights for another year, Emmerdale celebrated its win by tweeting: "Woohoo! #Emmerdale takes home The Big Quiz trophy again! Sorry, @itvcorrie, better luck next year."

Congratulating their rivals, the official Coronation Street Twitter account tweeted: "Well that was a giggle, wasn't it! We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! Well done @emmerdale - we'll be back next year!"
Putting their knowledge of their own soaps to the test, this year's quiz featured a number of challenging and amusing rounds, but one of the highlights of the night came when Sair Khan said she didn't recognise a mystery guest on the show, only to be told that she once filmed a scene with him.
Anyone remember Pest Controller Jimmy Cripps? Sair certainly doesn't.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV, while Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
