Harriet and Will attempted to bury Malone's body on Home Farm in tonight's Emmerdale (December 17) as they continue to do what they can to protect Dawn.

Harriet and Dawn shared an honest conversation and Dawn revealed how she's currently feeling about killing Malone.

"Nothing's going right, you know, maybe this is what I deserve after what I did to Malone, God's way of punishing me. I keep thinking I know the police don't know where he is and I know Billy won't say ought but it doesn't make it easy to live with, does it?" Dawn said.

Harriet was nervous and unsure if she could go through with helping to move Malone's body, but Will firmly told her that it was going ahead because they can't risk having the police find the body.

Will then headed up to Home Farm and began to dig a grave while Harriet waited nervously in the church for the carol service to begin.

Things escalated when Will heard a gunshot on the land – as he ran away, Kim saw him with a shovel in his hand.

Kim questioned Will about why he was on her private land and said: "Rather than let you explain or lie or come up with some ridiculous excuse, why don't you give me one good reason why I shouldn't call the police right now?"

Will managed to come up with an excuse and said that he was poaching. An irritated Kim let Will off and said that she didn't want to see him on her land again.

Elsewhere, Harriet ended the carol singing earlier than expected after she was distracted and everyone was concerned that she looked unwell.

As Harriet tried to back out of the plans, Will said: "We don't have a choice. This mess, Harriet, you made it, and tonight, you'll clean it up."

When it got dark enough, Harriet and Will dug up Malone's body and moved it out of the grave. Harriet was visibly distressed as she was sick at the graveside and crying.

Before she left, Harriet kneeled down by the grave and said a prayer asking for God to forgive her.

Things are starting to close in and Harriet is feeling the strain – how much longer will Harriet, Will and Dawn be able to keep this secret?

Emmerdale continues tomorrow (December 18) at 7pm on ITV.
