Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale's Tracy Metcalfe has been left devastated by Nate Robinson's shock decision to take the blame for Moria Dingle's hit and run.
While Nate (Jurell Carter) and the rest of the Dingles know that Jamie Tate was responsible for the incident, Nate – who is the father of Tracy's unborn child – decided to take the blame for the hit and run in tonight's (October 20) episode after Jamie Tate found a way to frame Belle Dingle.
After learning more about Belle's mental health history, Nate told Moria and Cain that he was willing to admit to the crime in order to spare Belle a prison sentence.
He also explained that wanted to do it as a way of thanking Belle's father, Zak Dingle, for reaching out to him when no one else would.
Although Belle tried to convince Nate not to go through with it after he told her of his decision, Nate's mind was made up.

But the exchange was overheard by Tracy, who was furious that Nate seemed to be abandoning her and their unborn baby to help the Dingles.
While Tracy tried to convince Nate to make the right decision for her and their baby, Nate showed he was determined to go through with his decision by explaining that he was certain that everything would be fine since this would be his first offence.
However, later in the episode, after Nate had been seen going to the police station with Cain, Tracy had a knock on her door, and she opened it to find Cain on the doorstep with some unexpected news.
Cain informed Tracy the police had kept Nate in, which doesn't bode well for a potential lighter sentence.
While Cain tried to assure Tracy that everything was okay and she'd be looked after financially, a devastated Tracy was having none of it and snapped back at Cain, telling him that it wasn't about money, but it was about a baby growing up without a father.
While Cain tried to insist that Nate's actions had been brave, Tracy told him: "One man's brave is another man's stupid," before ordering him out of the house.
Earlier this month, actress Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy, shared how her character will react to Nate's sacrifice.
"That's really heartbreaking for Tracy. It's another person in her life letting her down and at that point she doesn't see the reason why at all," Amy said.
"In her mind, Nate has known Belle for two minutes, Cain is awful to him, so why would he put himself through this and risk losing everything where Tracy and the baby are concerned?"
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
