Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has spoken about the possibility of Mandy Dingle forgiving her ex-partner Paul Ashdale.

Ever since Paul (Reece Dinsdale) arrived in the village in April, Mandy has insisted that he's bad news and she wants nothing to do with him.

In Friday's episode (May 29), Paul and Mandy are finally on the same page as Vinny remains AWOL following the week's revelations.

Vinny reacted badly when he discovered that Paul and Mandy had both been lying to him about Paul's true identity. Can things be worked out tonight as the Dingles and Paul all search for Vinny?

Asked what it would take for Mandy to forgive Paul, Lisa replied: "I think his charm. As Mandy said when Paul first came to the village, he can turn on the charm like a light switch.

"Mandy could fall under that spell very, very easily. He could turn it on again. Even though Mandy can be conniving herself, deep down she did love Paul more than anything.

"But in the scenes coming up in the near future, she still can't get over the pain that Paul caused. He didn't financially support them and Mandy had to do everything herself."

On whether she'd like Mandy and Paul to reconcile, Lisa added: "We know Reece is in the show for a long, long time. So there'll be a lot more legs to the spider before that happens!

"I love working with Reece. It's an absolute joy. I'm so lucky to come back to the show and not only have Bradley [Johnson, who plays Vinny], but now to have this big storyline with Reece.

"Reece is amazing and such a hard worker. For me, that's so important. He comes to work and is perfect. He's brought fuel to the relationship with the Dingle family and I feel blessed."

Emmerdale currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV.
