Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Charity Dingle will look for two past characters as Vanessa Woodfield's storyline continues.

In scenes airing next week, Charity (Emma Atkins) begins her search for Rakesh and Kirin Kotecha, who both left the village years ago.

It starts after Charity and Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) finally come to the agreement that Charity will adopt Johnny, as Vanessa, who has bowel cancer, continues to make plans for her son's future in the event that she dies.

Charity then approaches Priya Kotecha (Fiona Wade) at the HOP office and asks her if she knows anything about where Rakesh and Kirin may be. Unfortunately for Charity, Priya has no information.

What to Read Next

Charity chooses to hide the truth about her struggles from Vanessa, but later reveals to Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) that she needs to find Kirin – Johnny's biological father – so that he can agree to Charity adopting his child.

Kirin, formerly played by Adam Fielding, was last seen back in February 2016 when he fled the village after killing Tess Harris in a hit-and-run. Kirin was last heard to have settled in South America.

Rakesh bowed out in the summer of 2017, with star Pasha Bocarie saying at the time of his exit that it had been a "privilege" to be part of the show.

Viewers have so far seen Vanessa asking Rhona to be Johnny's guardian if she were to pass away. Vanessa asked Charity first, but Charity hesitated, leading to an upsetting argument between the couple.

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Monday, May 18 at 7pm on ITV.
