Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley has backed the decision to bring Cain Dingle closer to his estranged son Nate Robinson.
Viewers have seen tensions between the pair begin to fizzle out in recent weeks, with a major turning point coming when Nate (Jurell Carter) didn't tell the police about Cain being responsible for his shooting.
Cain had previously vowed never to forgive Nate for destroying his marriage to Moira (Natalie J Robb), but while they're still far from friendly, their feud now seems to be over.

Asked whether he's happy to see the dynamic changing, Jeff replied: "Yeah, I think that was inevitable. For the story to move forward, we have to have this thawing between them.
"The little gun incident recently, where Nate didn't grass Cain up to the police, was the first step to things beginning to get better between them."

Jeff then dropped a hint that he'd like to see Cain back with Moira one day, naming Butler's Farm as his favourite place for the bad boy to live.
He said: "My favourite place to film in Emmerdale is the exterior of the village, because I think the village is the jewel in the crown for this show. The village is the best character in the show, so I enjoy working on Main Street and at the garage.
"But my favourite place to live is on the farm with Moira!"

Jeff also had a shout-out for co-star Emma Atkins, naming her character Charity as his favourite in Emmerdale.
He said: "My favourite character is Charity, just because I think Emma is fantastic. She's got an incredible range as an actress and she's good fun to work with. She's a good friend."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
