Emmerdale was drenched in tears during tonight's episode (February 7), as Victoria's incriminating journal was discovered by Wendy.
Up until this point, the tragic rape storyline involving Victoria and Wendy's son Lee had proved to be a sticking point between the two characters, but now Wendy has been forced to accept the dark truth.

As it happened, Wendy came across Victoria's journal (which states the grisly details about her ordeal and how her mental health has been affected) whilst nobody was around.
Upon reading this troubling recollection, Wendy was eventually caught red-handed by Victoria, who set about confronting the situation.
"Everything that I feel is in here, like how depressed I am..." she cried, before Wendy finally responded with the words Victoria needed to hear: "I know he raped you!"

However, she still seems to be clinging on to an innocent picture of her dead son.
Wendy later said: "What do you want me to say, that I hate him? Because I can't, he was my son. As much as I know you don't want to hear this, I love him."
Emmerdale currently airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
