Emmerdale star Alexander Lincoln has promised "a massive amount of tension" at Home Farm as Jamie Tate's secret is revealed.

Spoilers for next week have confirmed that Jamie will be wrong-footed by Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough), who exposes the real reason that Kim was jailed.

The trouble begins when Jamie discovers that Graham's mystery new woman is Rhona Goskirk – news that doesn't go down well with Kim (Claire King) when she finds out too.

Jamie confronts Graham for his lack of loyalty towards Kim, but Graham brands him a hypocrite – reminding him that he was responsible for handing over the evidence that led to Kim's imprisonment.

Speaking about how Kim reacts to the bombshell, Alexander admitted: "Not particularly well! She never thought her son would ever do that to her. For Kim it's a huge amount of anger and frustration, as she spent years in prison for this.

"Jamie was fairly young at the time, so he didn't appreciate how long Kim would spend in prison. He didn't realise how much trouble she was actually going to be in.

"Kim is extremely upset and isn't sure how she'll forgive him."

On whether Kim will now show her ruthless side, Alexander continued: "The softer side of Kim comes out a lot more now that Jamie, Millie and Andrea have come in, because it’s more like a family unit.

"I think the side of Kim where she would have just turned on Jamie has dissipated a little bit and it's not the same ruthlessness as you would have seen in the past. But you can never be really sure with Kim!

"Jamie is desperate to get back into his mum's good books after it all kicks off. Whether or not she'll see it that way, and how quickly she'll be able to forgive him, is a different story.

"Jamie knows that he's done wrong and he feels terrible for it as well. There's a massive amount of tension between the two of us."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
