Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden, who plays fan favourite David Metcalfe, has revealed a surprising new addition to his kneecap on social media. As one does.
Matthew, despite only recently welcoming a baby boy with co-star and wife Charley Webb, has found the time to sit still for a few hours while someone pokes his body with a needle.
(Well, it's probably less painful than all those night feeds, isn't it?)
The actor shared his latest tattoo with fans on Instagram yesterday (September 27), thanking the artist for the intricate mandala design. "[It was a] bloody painful process, but I love it!" he wrote.
Just last month, Matthew and Charley announced the name and sex of their third child together, introducing fans to baby Ace in a magazine interview.
Ace, who joins his brothers Buster and Bowie, was born at the end of July weighing 8lb 3oz.
What to Read Next
The couple has stayed relatively coy about their family's newest addition, but Matthew has previously opened up about Charley's debilitating pregnancy condition, admitting that it had been "particularly brutal" for the Debbie Dingle actress this time around.

Meanwhile, over in the Dales, Matthew's character David has been feeling under the weather – and it might be more serious than he first thought.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
