The Sharmas and Dingles will receive a shock on Emmerdale, after guest character Derek falls ill and dies.
In next week's episodes, David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) and Manpreet's patient Derek (Tommy Cannon) are both feeling under the weather.
David suspects Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) may be responsible, as Rishi has recently been making his own chocolates in the aftermath of the factory fire – in an attempt to rebuild his confectionery empire.
Rishi brushes off David's speculation, but later Derek succumbs to the illness. Salmonella poisoning is the likely cause of death. Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) tells a worried Rishi that he's not to blame, but the Sharmas receive a visit from the environmental health service.
To make matters worse, the Sharmas are stunned to find out who made the call.
