Emmerdale's controversial storyline concerning teenager Jacob Gallagher and his groomer, teacher Maya Stepney, has sparked several complaints to Ofcom.
Each episode featuring this "uncomfortable" plot has seen strong reactions from soap fans online, so it was only a matter of time before the broadcasting regulators were called in to take a look.
Digital Spy has reached out to Ofcom for official complaint figures, though The Sun Online claims that 21 complaints have been received so far with a spokesperson claiming that they are "assessing" the scenes "against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate".

Earlier this week, the grooming storyline went further than most people had likely anticipated, with Maya and Jacob sleeping together on his birthday in a hotel suite.
The scenes saw a strong reaction on social media.

Although Emmerdale fans have been sickened by the scenes playing out on-screen, the soap's boss Kate Brooks has promised that the storyline will have "the right outcome".
"We've been working really closely with Barnardo's to make sure that we get it right, and doing a lot of other people's stories justice," she told Daily Star.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
