Emmerdale boss Kate Brooks has promised "the right outcome" to Jacob and Maya's grooming story.
Scheming child abuser Maya has managed to win Jacob over again and will prepare to sleep with him as he turns 16 this week.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Brooks opened up about the controversial plot, explaining: "We've been working really closely with Barnardo's to make sure that we get it right, and doing a lot of other people's stories justice.
"It's something that's not really been touched on in soaps. It's a tricky story to tell but we've managed so far to tell it as sensitively as possible. It's not going to be as straightforward as you'd imagine."
Brooks continued: "We want people to be yelling at the TV, 'Please tell somebody! This is not right! You're a young lad, please speak out about this.'
"We've got a responsibility. A lot of people watch the show, a lot of teenagers watch the show, and also we would never just tell one of these stories lightly.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
