Emmerdale's Rhona Goskirk is left with life-shattering news following her horror accident at Butler's Farm in tonight's double bill.

After Pete Barton (Anthony Quinlan) crashed straight through the barn when his tractor's brakes failed in Thursday night's (February 21) first episode, Rhona's (Zoe Henry) life was left hanging in the balance when she's left injured in the horror accident.

With Pete terrified when he was unable to stop Rhona's bleeding, the initial good news that Rhona had gotten through the surgery following her crash injury "with flying colours" didn't last long before the couple were later given more devastating news when Rhona was told they'd found extensive fibroids in her womb.

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the womb and women who develop fibroids often don't have symptoms – although Rhona admits that she's felt discomfort recently, but didn't think it was worth checking out.

As Rhona is told that her options include either hormone treatment to shrink the fibroids, which may not be effective, or a hysterectomy, she's left reeling as she considers the fact that she may not be able to have any more children.

Rhona is already mum to Leo, but she doesn't have any children with boyfriend Pete yet, and the sad health news means that they may no longer be able to welcome a child together, and viewers were left just as devastated for her:
