Emmerdale's Bob Hope will be left in despair in the build-up to Christmas.

Bob (Tony Audenshaw) recently lost everything when Laurel Thomas decided to end their relationship and he's now facing a double blow of loneliness and financial struggles.

Viewers know that Bob has been struggling to make ends meet over the past few months, especially since stepping aside at the cafe for the sake of his ex-partner Brenda Walker.

Next week, Bob feels like a failure when his twin children Heath and Cathy both ask for expensive gifts for Christmas.

Bob knows that there's no way he'll be able to afford the gifts, but he fears letting the kids down after all of the turmoil he's put them through this year.

Things briefly seem to be looking up for Bob when Harriet Finch offers him a job as a Christmas elf.

Emmerdale's executive producer Jane Hudson recently tipped Bob as one to watch over the festive season, so we'll just have to wait and see whether he hits rock bottom or is saved by a Christmas miracle.

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Thursday, December 20 at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.
